How will the PSTN and ISDN switch-off impact your business?

How will the PSTN and ISDN switch-off impact your business?

As we all know, in 2015 BT announced that they will be switching off the PSTN and ISDN networks by 2025. With this, BT will no longer accept any new orders or amendments to services applicable to any ISDN products as of 2020.

Once the switch-off has taken place, customers will be migrated to a single IP core network using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), which will ultimately replace all legacy network and platforms.

While 2025 may seem a long way off, 2020 is only three years away and the upcoming switch-off means that PSTN and ISDN lines are now considered a legacy product.

This means that investment in these products is very likely to fall. If your business uses or offers PSTN and ISDN lines as a service, the switch-off is going to have a significant effect on your business unless you can migrate your own systems and your customer’s systems over to a VoIP service.

In this article, we will have a look at  VoIP Telephony services that are available and the benefits of migrating your systems in time for the ISDN switch-off in 2025 will have on your business and your customer base.

High Speed Connectivity Supports Legal Practice Growth

High Speed Connectivity Supports Legal Practice Growth

Catherine Gannon established Gannons with a clear business model in mind. “We deliver top quality service to private companies that don’t want to pay the huge fees large firms charge, but need the skills a high street practitioner may not necessarily have. Our boutique commercial firm has low overheads courtesy of the connectivity Venus provides. It facilitates my flexible working concept allowing me to employ talented solicitors who didn’t want the politics of the City. They can work flexibly and remotely at locations across the country giving them a good work life balance. Also controlling costs is very important to ensure the business is profitable, so I didn’t want an expensive really fast server. Instead we use cloud-based applications with superfast connectivity from Venus. The system works very reliably, however it is reassuring to know there is engineering support from Venus when I need it.

Multi Tenant Connectivity Solutions

Multi Tenant Connectivity Solutions

The Building Centre, in Central London, was established in 1931. Since then it has developed into a multi tenant office building. Each tenant is heavily dependent on sending very large data files detailing construction projects – more than 100MB per file is commonplace. David Birkbeck is well known to other tenants in the building and he encouraged a clutch of them to syndicate the costs of commissioning fibre optic connectivity at the Building Centre.

The Connection Voucher Scheme provides an added incentive for landlords of properties with multiple business tenants to install high speed connectivity. The landlords should take the opportunity to capitalise on reduced installation fees.
