Venus enables SoConnect to increase fibre coverage across London
Several years ago, SoConnect were experiencing delivery issues with their fibre supplier and heard, via the grapevine, that a building close to their London based client site was due to get their fibre leased lines and EFM installed at incredibly short notice. SoConnect did not believe this at first, but when they were delivered, SoConnect immediately saw the potential partnership opportunity this could bring. SoConnect did their research, found that the fibre supplier was Venus Business Communications and approached them directly.
Since SoConnect already had a client lined up waiting for a fibre leased line install, they could trial Venus immediately. The process ran smoothly and the short lead times were true. This was the start of the highly successful channel partnership between the two companies.

One of the reasons Venus is able to reduce their lead times is due to their London based support and provisioning teams. With their own field team based in the heart of their network they have great knowledge of the local area and can physically attend site surveys, allowing them to spot any potential issues which will impact the lead times.

Venus gives clear guidelines on what needs to be done and when it will be delivered so we are able to set our clients’ expectations early on and run a smooth process at a very competitive speed.”

Thanks to the amazing fibre install lead times, SoConnect have seen a big increase in new business since partnering with Venus as they now have a very clear and strong USP. Puddick adds “Where Venus is on-net for London postcodes it is always a no brainer to use them as their lead times are outstanding.”
However it is not just the impressive lead times that have helped SoConnect increase their market share in a lucrative market miles away from their base. As Venus specialise in London fibre, they are able to offer very competitive prices. The Venus sales team continue to work closely with SoConnect to secure new tenders and are commercially flexible when needed to enable SoConnect to win even more business.
Since Venus provide SoConnect with a white label fibre service there needs to be strong trust between the two companies as SoConnect have their own reputation at stake. SoConnect find Venus very easy to work with compared to other suppliers and they will always do everything in their power to get things done. Puddick adds “Venus go over and above what is expected and as a result we have total confidence in our relationship with them.”
As a result of great lead times, competitive pricing and continuous customer support, SoConnect have expanded their footprint in central London and have increased their London client base by 15% over the past 18 months.
